• IT teams and finance teams must track dozens–hundreds of SaaS contracts (M365, Atlassian, security tools, niche dev SaaS, etc.). Compliance-heavy orgs (health-care, gov, banks) often can’t ship usage/cost data to a 3rd-party cloud.
• Multiple Reddit threads asking specifically for a self-hosted, team-ready subscription or license tracker:
  • r/selfhosted 2022-02-21 “self hosted subscription management solution” (100+ up-votes, 70 comments) – people list pain points and no good tool except spreadsheets; Snipe-IT mentioned but ‘not great for subscriptions’.
  • r/selfhosted 2025-06 thread linked by the idea (1jck3pd) – commenters praise Wallos but note it’s ‘single-user’, ask for seat-tracking, Slack reminders and roles.
  • r/sysadmin 2023-03 “MS License tracking” – admins complain Snipe-IT can’t handle variable-seat SaaS licences.
• Feature-request issues on Snipe-IT GitHub (#5673, #16449) specifically ask for ‘subscription model functionality’ and ‘subscription management’ (open since 2018; still open). Shows demand and that popular OSS hasn’t solved it.
