đź’ˇ SaaS Idea: LinguaBook Club

Tool that combines ebooks + aligned translations + TTS audiobooks + spaced repetition for language learners with your own books.

Platform: web

Why it's a good idea?

1. Problem & Idea Recap

Many language-learners want to consume real books but hit friction: missing vocabulary, no audio, no built-in review loop, and—crucially—no way to do it with their own e-books. “LinguaBook Club” proposes one workspace that:

  • imports any ePub/PDF
  • auto-aligns original + translation sentence-by-sentence
  • voices the text with TTS
  • sends unknown words/phrases to an SRS deck

2. Evidence of Interest in the Wild

Hacker News Post 45075127 discussing exactly this feature set; > 100 up-votes & constructive comments (can’t scrape but visible live).
Reddit /r/languagelearning threads asking for “ebook reader for language learners” and “best app with built-in translator”.
Side-projects Multiple indie posts (Duoreader, LingoReader, BookTranslator.ai) show makers trying similar angles.

The amount of organic discussion indicates a pain point that hasn’t been completely solved.
