Problem & Audience

Indie hackers / solo-founders running SaaS on top of Stripe want to know their key numbers (MRR, churn, LTV, runway) but existing options sit at two extremes:

  • Stripe’s built-in ‘Revenue & Reports’ tab – too shallow (no cohorts, no runway, no cash-burn)
  • Heavyweight finance suites – ChartMogul ($100+/m), Baremetrics ($179/m), SaaSOptics (mid-market, sales-led, $500+/m) – overkill in features, price and onboarding friction. A “Stripe-first, indie-priced” dashboard could fill that gap.

Existing Solutions / Competitors

  1. Baremetrics – the indie favourite historically; now $179/m minimum; feature rich, but many indie founders feel it’s overpriced after its 2020 price hike (multiple HN & IH threads complaining).
  2. ProfitWell Metrics – free, but pushes users to their paid Retain and Recognized add-ons; interface is slower, Stripe only, no bank-cash view, and export/API limits.
  3. ChartMogul – aimed at VC-backed SaaS; expensive, requires data-cleanup, minimal burn-rate features.
  4. IndieRevenue / Userflow’s open-source ‘SaaS metrics’ – hobby projects, not maintained, limited charts.
  5. “Stripe Sigma + Google Sheets” – DIY workaround many founders...
