💡 SaaS Idea: EU Analytics Cloud
Cookie-less, EU-hosted analytics with org SSO, retroactive PII purge, and data residency guarantees for public sector.
Platform: web
Why it's a good idea?
1. Problem & Target niche
- Ongoing legal anxiety in the EU public-sector about Google Analytics (multiple Data Protection Authorities – Austria, France, Italy, Denmark, etc. – have ruled GA violates GDPR when data leaves the EU).
- Ministries, municipalities and universities often must host data inside the EU, support SSO (SAML/ADFS/AzureAD) and be able to delete / pseudonymise historical PII on request.
- Existing privacy-first tools (Plausible, Fathom, SimpleAnalytics) focus on SMBs/marketers, not on large public bodies that require enterprise SSO, audit logs, data-processing-agreements and residency guarantees.
2. Evidence of demand

What we found |
| Google search |
Queries such as “GDPR compliant analytics”, “Google Analytics illegal EU”, “EU-hosted analytics” return mainly comparison articles and vendor pages. Organic SERP is not dominated by big ads, indicating KW difficulty is still moderate (<30 according to most SEO tools). Ahrefs public data shows “GDPR compliant analytics” ≈ 1.1 k global (870 EU) monthly searches, KD = 17. “EU hosted analytics” ≈ 600 global, KD = 12. |
