Whenever they apply for driving licences, navy/airline, electrical jobs or when designers want an accessibility badge they need to know the exact subtype (protan/deutan/tritan) and severity. A calibrated test normally requires visiting an optometrist (HRR, Farnsworth-Munsell, Rabin CCT, CAD) or buying a $60–$400 plate set.
