đź’ˇ SaaS Idea: NextTask
A minimalist task manager that only shows you the single next action you need to do, reducing overwhelm for ADHD/overloaded users. Inspired by Redditors asking for a to-do list that "only shows me what's next."
Platform: web,mobile
Why it's a good idea?
Problem signal
- Multiple Reddit threads asking for a to-do list that shows only one task at a time. Example threads: r/ProductivityApps post “Are there any todo lists that will only show me the next task?” (link supplied by user) + r/productivity posts from 2022 & 2023. Dozens of up-votes and comments looking for a solution or recommending work-arounds, showing real unmet demand.
- ADHD communities frequently discuss overwhelm from long task lists; they already use hacks like writing one item on a sticky note or hiding overdue items.
Existing solutions / competitors (so the market pays for this)
- Just One Task (iOS, paid-upfront $1.99) – very small, only on iOS, <1k ratings. Shows market will pay.
- Principal Task (indie app) – Android only, <10k installs, freemium.
- Tiimo, Structured, Goblin.tools, FocusBear, Motion etc. serve ADHD productivity, but they are full planners, not single-task-only views by default.
- No dominant cross-platform minimalist “next-action only” brand yet; room to differentiate with web + mobile + better UX.
